Publication Date: February 14th, 2017

“She’s beautiful.

Tall, blonde and a pair of blue-green eyes that can melt any teenage boy’s heart… but Rick is adamant that his best friend’s girlfriend, Shamara, has a sinister vendetta against him – and the more he tries to prove it the more she evades being caught. Evil smirks, winking maliciously and even licking her lips at him are the least of his worries as Shamara proves to be more of a sociopath than a beauty queen.

Will Rick be able to outwit Shamara and her devilish crusade? Or is it all a series of moves in a deadly, dark game that he has no chance of winning?”

Review:

I was contacted to review this book by the book Instagram account (@adarkgame). Thank you again for the free copy to review. It’s also free on Kindle right now!

When I first read this synopsis, it sounded exactly like the type of book I would read. It doesn’t really sound like anything I’ve heard of before, so that made me apprehensive but excited. Reading through this book, the plot was good and even though there were some differences in writing style than I was used to, I liked it very much.

If you are a young adult lover, I think you would really like this book. The high school romances are definitely very prominent and I love that in a book. The characters were interesting. They each had their own developments. I feel like it was a little slow in the beginning, but it did pick up.

Next, I really loved the ending. It was a great shock moment and hopefully, there will be a sequel to show for that ending!

The only thing I didn’t really like was the fact that there weren’t many details of anything. There were characters and they had names. However, there weren’t really any other details accounted for. There was no setting, time period, etc.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and I think that a lot of people would too. It’s a little hard to read in the beginning, but once you get started, it’s hard to put down. Thanks again to Derrick for the free copy!
